I believe that the social media is the biggest shift change since the industreal revolution. There are many benefits to the social media as well as many negative things. The positive things about the social media, like facebook for example is that you can communicate with family and friends from far distances. I have family members who don't live here and Canada but each day I'm able to communicate with them using facebook.
The negative things about the social media is that it is also teaching people to communicate in the wrong way, a lot of people start to communiate only using these things instead of communicating in person. It is also very time consuming using the social media. I always find myself using it when i should be doing somthing thats important. I also find that it is teaching children from a younge age to use things like facebook, which could be very dangerous if they do not know how to use it properly. Just the other day I was talking to my cousin about facebook and he told me that he got facebook when he was in grade 3, if you think about that its a really younge age to get facebook. Most children wont know how to set up there facebook so that the public can't see it.
I think that the social media is more negative then it is positve.
I totally agree with you. I have to relatives that do not live here in Canada, and thank to social media I' m able to communicate with them at anytime and anywhere I might be. I also agree with you saying that today grade 3 kids shouldn't have facebook's accounts, it can be not safe for them.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day
I also agree with the use of Face Book to keep in touch with family and old friends is amasing. I persnaly lost touch with all my extended family over the years, but since facebook has come out, we get to see each others children grow, catch up on past years and gettogther after 10+ years!! The only draw back of herasment and stalkers wich i also personaly have had probloms with in the past. If you use the site make sur you also know about he difrent security deatail you have accses too!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying obviously about connecting with people around the world it is very useful in that sense but when you say it is time consuming i disagree. The amount of time you spend on it is up to you. When thinking about it, it is quite time efficient because of how quick you can communicate for example; making a plan to go see someone can happen in seconds and i would argue that it is possibly the next fastest way to make plans with a person than to be in the presence of them. Now about the younger kids i agree with you on that it could be rather dangerous, i guess someone will have to soon figure out an answer to that problem.
ReplyDeleteYou have very good points. It is very true that facebook makes us spend more time doing things, that arnt that important. On top of wasted time, privacy issues are also very important, which many people especially younger kids who are being drawn into the social media world, dont no about and cannot protect them selves from many dangerous things that come along with "facebook," for example.
