Blog Posting # 4

I believe that within the next 2 or 3 years that social media will not change that much, yes they will come out with different types of social media networks but it will not grow until another 5-6 years. In another 5-6 years I think that is when there will be a bigger change in social media, that there will be newer types of facebook's and skype's, that will help you connect with family and friends faster; i dont see how much faster and more advanced this will become but i'm sure someone will try and figure out how to do this. As for the technology, in  the way people will access these things will be different. Soon everyone will have ipads and tablets, not as many people will carry around laptops to access there social media networks but that things like ipads will be the new "trend" the thing that everyone has and it wont be as expensive.

Blog post 3- Social Media and Development

I believe that to a certain extend social media can actully help social change. I say this only because, yes social media is helping a lot by publisising all the need and groups that you can help support threw facebook, twitter, my space and all social media's. You can help by being a part of them and showing your interest in each type of thing that the group is trying to accomplish. But by saying that you "like" or that you are "apart of a group" it only shows that you agree with it but it doesnt actully show that you are doing somthing and that you will do somthing to try and change whatever the cause may be.
So like I said, social media is a great way to show everyone that need that are out there and how they need the help but it doesnt mean that they will help and actully make a real social change.

Social Media has increased news and information

I believe that social media has increased the quality of news. Everyone is using blogs, facebook and twitter to tell all of their information and news about themselves and also about others that they want to share with friends. So if someone is going to hear about exciting news the first place that you will see or hear about this news is from facebook, twitter and or blogs. Most the time when I hear about exciting news its from facebook. Even if its news about famous people you will either see it because your friends posted it somewhere on facebook or you might have a famous person on your twitter account and your following them.
Social media has deffienetly increased the quality of news and information, if it werent for social media half the news that everyone knows they wouldnt know.

My view on social media.

I believe that the social media is the biggest shift change since the industreal revolution. There are many benefits to the social media as well as many negative things. The positive things about the social media, like facebook for example is that you can communicate with family and friends from far distances. I have family members who don't live here and Canada but each day I'm able to communicate with them using facebook.
The negative things about the social media is that it is also teaching people to communicate in the wrong way, a lot of people start to communiate only using these things instead of communicating in person. It is also very time consuming using the social media. I always find myself using it when i should be doing somthing thats important. I also find that it is teaching children from a younge age to use things like facebook, which could be very dangerous if they do not know how to use it properly. Just the other day I was talking to my cousin about facebook and he told me that he got facebook when he was in grade 3, if you think about that its a really younge age to get facebook. Most children wont know how to set up there facebook so that the public can't see it.
I think that the social media is more negative then it is positve.
